Prayer
In March I had a remarkable experience in the temple. I was helping a little Hmong sister at the veil. She wanted to speak in her own language and the receiver would also speak in that language. I had a card to help her but as I cannot understand or read Hmong it wasn't much help to me. I had to watch the receiver's hands to know where she was and help her to read the correct thing. When I finally got her through, I sat down and said to myself, "That was rough."
Then I noticed Charlotte Kauffman doing the same thing I just finished doing. Her receiver was speaking English so that helped her. As I watched the difficulty this woman was having, the Spirit came to me so strongly and let me know that it is important that everyone have the opporutnity to speak to our Heavenly Father no matter the difficulty of language or any other factor.
I pondered over this and decided that it isn't just in the temple that we have the opportunity to speak to our Father. It is every time we pray. We should take that opportunity every single day and more than once. He yearns to hear from us and wants us to thank Him and ask Him for things that we need. It is a testimony to me of just how powerful prayer is. After all, the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ began with a prayer!
